What They Add
BlazeandCave’s Advancements Pack

Crop and Kettle
Introduces new crops to grow and cooking mechanics for preparing custom food items with unique effects.
Incendium
Completely overhauls the Nether dimension with new biomes, structures, mobs, and loot. The Nether is far more dangerous — and rewarding — than vanilla.

Custom Weapons
IllyriaRPG adds three powerful end-game weapons, each crafted via the smithing table using a Netherite Upgrade template and a rare material.
| Weapon | Base Item | Catalyst |
|---|---|---|
| Greatsword | Netherite Sword | Nether Star |
| Halberd | Netherite Spear | Nether Star |
| Longsword | Netherite Sword | Echo Shard |
Crafting
All weapons are upgraded in a smithing table:
[Netherite Upgrade Template] + [Base Weapon] + [Catalyst] → [Custom Weapon]
Custom models and textures are provided by the server resource pack.
Greatsword
A heavy two-handed blade with devastating damage.
Stats
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Base Item | Netherite Sword |
| Attack Damage | 10.0 |
| Attack Speed | 1.2 |
Crafting
Upgrade a Netherite Sword in a smithing table:
| Slot | Ingredient |
|---|---|
| Template | Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template |
| Base | Netherite Sword |
| Addition | Nether Star |
Playstyle
The Greatsword hits the hardest of all custom weapons but swings the slowest. Best for players who prefer heavy, deliberate strikes — pairs well with damage-boosting enchantments.
Halberd
A polearm with extended reach for keeping enemies at bay.
Stats
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Base Item | Netherite Spear |
| Attack Damage | 9.5 |
| Attack Speed | 1.3 |
| Reach | 4.0 blocks |
Crafting
Upgrade a Netherite Spear in a smithing table:
| Slot | Ingredient |
|---|---|
| Template | Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template |
| Base | Netherite Spear |
| Addition | Nether Star |
Playstyle
The Halberd’s extended reach (4 blocks instead of 3) lets you hit enemies before they can hit you. Excellent for controlling distance in PvP and safely fighting mobs.
Longsword
A swift, elegant blade that trades raw damage for speed.
Stats
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Base Item | Netherite Sword |
| Attack Damage | 8.0 |
| Attack Speed | 1.6 |
Crafting
Upgrade a Netherite Sword in a smithing table:
| Slot | Ingredient |
|---|---|
| Template | Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template |
| Base | Netherite Sword |
| Addition | Echo Shard |
Playstyle
The Longsword is the fastest custom weapon. With 1.6 attack speed, you can land more hits per second — ideal for aggressive playstyles and quickly applying on-hit effects like Fire Aspect.
Enchantments
IllyriaRPG adds four custom enchantments obtainable through the enchanting table, anvils, and villager trading — just like vanilla enchantments.
Custom Enchantments

| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Applies To | Tether items |
| Max Level | 1 |
| Source | Enchanting table, anvil, trading |

Allows you to tether entities to items, extending your interaction possibilities. Pairs with Vinemine — when both enchantments are on a tool, vein-mined drops are automatically collected.
Vinemine
Break entire ore veins in one swing.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|

| Max Level | 3 |
| Source | Enchanting table, anvil, trading |

| 2 | 32 |
| 3 | 48 |
Notes
- Only works on ore blocks
- Does not work in Creative mode
- When combined with the Tether enchantment, drops are automatically collected
- Durability is consumed per block broken
Vanilla Enchantment Tweaks
IllyriaRPG adjusts the behavior of several vanilla enchantments.
Fortune — Auto-Replant
When breaking a fully-grown crop with a hoe enchanted with Fortune II or higher, the crop is automatically replanted.
| Level | Auto-Replant |
|---|---|
| Fortune I | No |
| Fortune II | Yes |
| Fortune III | Yes |
Feather Falling
Adjusted fall protection behavior.
Silk Touch
Extended silk touch capabilities for additional block types.
Quality of Life
Small features that make everyday play more comfortable.
| Feature | TL;DR |
|---|---|
| Sitting | Right-click stairs/slabs to sit |
| Nicknames | Change your display name with /nick |
| Ender Chest | Quick ender chest access |
| XP Management | Bottle XP at an enchanting table |
| Anvil Improvements | Better anvil mechanics |
Sitting
Take a load off — sit on stairs and slabs.
How to Sit
Right-click any stair or bottom slab to sit on it. You’ll stay seated until you move or the block is broken.
Notes
- Only one player can occupy a block at a time
- You automatically stand when the block is destroyed
- Dismounting returns you to your standing position
Nicknames
Change your in-game display name with MiniMessage formatting support.
Usage
Run /nick (alias for /nickname) to open the nickname dialog.
Enter your desired name and confirm.
MiniMessage Formatting
Nicknames support full MiniMessage syntax — colors, gradients, bold, and more.
Examples
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
<red>Steve</red> | Red name |
<gradient:#FF0000:#0000FF>Alex</gradient> | Gradient-colored name |
<gold>Knight</gold> | Bold, gold name |
RGB Gradients Made Easy
Use birdflop.com/resources/rgb to generate gradient text:
- Type your name on the site
- Set output format to MiniMessage
- Copy the output and paste it into the nickname dialog
See the MiniMessage docs for the full formatting syntax.
Notes
- Nicknames are persistent across sessions
- The nickname shows in the tab list
- All players can use
/nickby default
Ender Chest
Quick access to your ender chest anywhere.
Usage
Hold an Ender Chest in your hand and right-click in the air to open your ender chest remotely.
Notes
- Only works when clicking air — not blocks
- Survival mode only
XP Management
Store your experience points in bottles for safekeeping.
Bottling XP
Right-click an enchanting table with an empty glass bottle to convert your XP into an Experience Bottle.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| XP Cost per Bottle | 11 experience points |
| Required Item | Glass Bottle |
| Required Block | Enchanting Table |
Why Bottle XP?
- Protect your levels — bottled XP survives death
- Trading — hand XP to other players as bottles
- Storage — save XP for later enchanting sessions
Anvil Improvements
Significant quality-of-life changes to anvils, including disenchanting and cost improvements.
Key Features
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| No “Too Expensive!” | Cost cap removed — repair/enchant anything |
| Level Cap Bypass | Exceed normal enchantment level limits |
| Disenchant Item | Extract enchantments back onto books |
| MiniMessage Names | Use formatting codes when renaming items |
Removed Cost Limit
The vanilla 40-level anvil cap (“Too Expensive!”) is removed. You can always combine and repair items regardless of cost — as long as you have the levels.
Operations that would normally cost 40+ levels are allowed and will deduct the full level cost.
Enchantment Level Cap Bypass
The vanilla limit on enchantment levels is bypassed on anvils, allowing you to combine enchantments beyond their normal maximum levels where the game otherwise permits it.
Disenchanting
Extract enchantments from an item back onto an enchanted book.
How to Disenchant
- Place the enchanted item (or Enchanted Book) in the first anvil slot
- Place a regular Book in the second slot
- The result slot will show an Enchanted Book with the extracted enchantments
- Take the result to complete the disenchantment
Rules
- The item must have 2 or more non-curse enchantments (single-enchantment items cannot be disenchanted)
- Curses (Binding, Vanishing) are never extracted
- When disenchanting an Enchanted Book with multiple enchantments, only one enchantment is split off per book
- Extracted enchantments are removed from the source item
- The book is consumed
XP Cost
The level cost scales with the number and level of enchantments extracted. Higher levels cost more.
MiniMessage Renaming
When renaming items in an anvil, you can use MiniMessage formatting syntax for styled item names.
Examples
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
<red>Flaming Sword</red> | Red, italic-free name |
<gradient:#FF0000:#0000FF>Blade</gradient> | Gradient-colored name |
<gold>Excalibur</gold> | Bold, gold name |
See the MiniMessage docs for the full formatting syntax.
Gameplay Changes
World and gameplay modifications that set IllyriaRPG apart.
| Feature | TL;DR |
|---|---|
| Tree Mechanics | Improved tree behavior |
| Openable Blocks | Doors & trapdoors with extended behavior |
| Chiseled Bookshelf Storage | Extra book storage |
| Anti-Griefing | Built-in build protection |
| Entity Tweaks | QoL changes to mobs and ambient entities |
Tree Mechanics
Vanilla trees are replaced with custom tree structures for a more natural, varied look when growing saplings.
How It Works
Planting and growing a sapling (or using bone meal) spawns a hand-crafted custom tree structure instead of the default vanilla tree. Each tree type has multiple structure variants chosen at random, so no two trees look exactly alike.
Supported Tree Types
| Sapling | Custom Variants |
|---|---|
| Oak | Yes |
| Spruce | Yes |
| Birch | Yes |
| Jungle | Yes |
| Acacia | Yes |
| Dark Oak | Yes |
| Cherry | Yes |
| Mangrove | Yes |
| Azalea | Yes |
| Crimson Fungus | Yes |
| Warped Fungus | Yes |
| Red Mushroom | Yes |
| Brown Mushroom | Yes |
Notes
- Sapling growth behaves like vanilla — custom trees do not overwrite existing blocks such as stone or player-built structures
- Fungi and huge mushrooms also grow as custom variants
- Pale Oak is currently excluded due to an upstream Paper bug
Openable Blocks
Extended behavior for doors and other openable blocks.
Features
| Feature | How to Trigger |
|---|---|
| Double Door Sync | Right-click either door of a double door pair |
| Door Knocking | Sneak + left-click a door with an empty hand |
Double Door Sync
Right-clicking one door of a double door pair automatically opens or closes the adjacent door in sync. No more manually clicking both doors.
Notes
- Only works when right-clicking a door normally (not while sneaking)
- The adjacent door must mirror the clicked door (hinge on the opposite side)
Door Knocking
Announce your arrival by knocking on a door!
How to Knock
- Empty your hand (hold nothing)
- Sneak (hold Shift)
- Left-click any door, trapdoor, or fence gate
A knocking sound plays to all players within 10 blocks.
Works in Survival and Adventure modes on doors, trapdoors, and fence gates — anything openable.
Chiseled Bookshelf Storage
Peek inside chiseled bookshelves without opening the inventory.
How It Works
Left-click the front face of a chiseled bookshelf to see what’s stored in the slot you’re looking at. The contents appear as an action bar message.
What You See
| Content Type | Display |
|---|---|
| Written Book | Book icon + title + author |
| Enchanted Book | Book icon + stored enchantments |
| Other Books | Book icon only |
Details
- Uses ray casting to detect exactly which slot (out of 6) you’re pointing at
- Shows the sprite icon of the stored item
- Works in Survival and Adventure modes
- Only works when clicking the front face of the bookshelf
Anti-Griefing
IllyriaRPG has built-in protection against common griefing methods so your builds stay safe.
Protections
- Controlled block breaking/placing in sensitive areas
- TNT and explosion restrictions where configured
Best Practices
- Report suspicious activity to staff via in-game chat
- When in doubt, build within protected regions
Entity Tweaks
Quality-of-life adjustments to mobs and ambient entities.
| Entity | Change |
|---|---|
| Bat | Behavior adjustments |
| Husk | Modified spawn/behavior |
| Wandering Trader | Improved trades & behavior |
| Ambient mobs | Silenced annoying sounds |
| Tameable mobs | Extended taming features |
| Spawn Eggs | Enhanced spawn egg usage |
Recipes
IllyriaRPG adds convenient vanilla-style recipes for common QoL needs.
All Recipes
| Recipe | Method | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chainmail Helmet | Crafting Table | 5 Iron Bars | Chainmail Helmet |
| Chainmail Chestplate | Crafting Table | 8 Iron Bars | Chainmail Chestplate |
| Chainmail Leggings | Crafting Table | 7 Iron Bars | Chainmail Leggings |
| Chainmail Boots | Crafting Table | 4 Iron Bars | Chainmail Boots |
| Wool to String | Crafting Table | 1 Wool (any color) | 4 String |

| Wood to Log | Crafting Table | 1 Wood Block (any type) | 4 Matching Logs |
| Diamond Recycling | Blast Furnace | 1 Diamond Tool/Armor | 1 Diamond |
| Custom Paintings | Stonecutter | 1 Painting + material | 1 Custom Painting |
Notes
- Chainmail Armor uses vanilla armor crafting patterns with Iron Bars
- Diamond Recycling accepts any diamond tool, weapon, or armor piece (including horse armor)
- Rotten Flesh can be smelted in a furnace, smoker, or campfire
- Wood to Log converts wood blocks (e.g. Oak Wood) back to 4 logs of the same type
- Custom Paintings are cut via the stonecutter
Weapon Recipes
For the custom RPG weapons, see the Weapons section.
